Wound Care
Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center's comprehensive Wound Healing Center offers specialized, outpatient care for non-healing wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. These treatment modalities include bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric medicine, growth factor therapy, negative pressure therapy, biologicals and biosynthetics, transcutaneous oxygen monitoring, total contact casting, and much more.
When is wound care appropriate for me?
If you struggle with wounds that have not healed within 30 days, we can help. As experts in caring for chronic wounds that have resisted traditional treatment, the Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine has a success rate of 92% healed in just 12-16 weeks.
What type of wounds can the center help to heal?
Our wound care team provides advanced treatments for acute and chronic wound of any type which have resisted traditional forms of care. These wounds include, but are not limited to:
- Diabetic/Neuropathic ulcers
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Pressure Ulcers
- Arterial/Ischemic wounds
- Skin tears
- Bone infection (osteolmyelitis)
- Gangrene
- Radiation injuries/wounds
- Osteoradionecrosis
- Surgical wounds
- Traumatic injuries
- Compromised skin grafts or flaps
- Incontinence or other moisture related dermatitis
- Minor burns*
- Any wound that has not shown signs of improvement in 30 days
* Burn injuries that involve the face or threaten loss of function to extremities should first be evaluated at a trauma or burn center.
