Childbirth Education Classes
Pregnancy is a joyous, exciting and sometimes uncertain journey. Education, knowledgeable doctors and staff, and a caring atmosphere close to home can make all the difference. At Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center,, we’re here to make the most memorable nine months of your life go smoothly and to help your pregnancy be a healthy one.
Each month, our prenatal education team will meet with expecting parents to go over the ins and outs of childbirth. Our classes include:
- Breastfeeding Class - Expectant moms and their support person will learn about the importance of breastfeeding and breast care. You’ll gain an understanding of your baby’s feeding needs and methods to ensure adequate nutrition. This class is $15.
- Breastfeeding Support Group - Sometimes just having a supportive network of breastfeeding moms encouraging you can make a big difference. So, come out and attend our breastfeeding support group held by our board-certified lactation consultant. This group meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month and is open all breastfeeding and expectant moms.
- Childbirth Education Series - The more you learn, the more likely you will approach your big day with confidence. Gain a better understanding of the process of labor and delivery and get answers tp your questions about the birthing process with a certified childbirth educator. The education series focuses on pregnancy, what to expect during the stages of labor, relaxation techniques, postpartum care, breastfeeding and much more. We encourage labor partners to attend. The class is $45 per couple. Choose one of the two convenient class schedule options available: a 3-week series or a 1-day Saturday class.
- Labor & Delivery Unit Tours - Understanding your hospital's layout and policies will help you prepare for a positive birth experience. Our tours are designed to provide expectant mothers and their partners with information about our hospital amenities and services.
