We take care of the details and pulled together important patient information to help make your stay a little easier, a little more comfortable and a little brighter.
And here, we care for more than your physical health. The AdventHealth Heart of Florida hospital chaplain is here to support you on your spiritual journey – however you need it.

Patient Services
- Visiting Hours

We welcome your friends and family to visit you during AdventHealth Heart of Florida visiting hours, which are generally 8 am to 9 pm.
Medical and Surgical Units
Parents of pediatric patients (or a family member acting on behalf of the parent) are encouraged to stay with their child, even outside of visiting hours.
We also ask that visitors are limited to two at a time for our patients in the medical and surgical units. This allows our patients to rest and recover as their bodies heal.
Intensive Care/PCU Units
We ask that only adult members of our patients’ immediate family visit the ICU and PCU. Only two visitors are permitted at a time during visiting hours. Nurses may make exceptions to these visiting hours based on individual situations.
Mother/Baby Units
We welcome immediate family to visit moms in our Mother/Baby Unit 24 hours a day. We ask that other relatives and friends meet the newest member of your family during general visiting hours, 8 am to 9 pm.
Significant others who are supportive to the mother may be present during delivery, but it’s ultimately up to the discretion of the patient and staff as to how many individuals will be allowed in our labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites.

Food and Refreshments
Cafeteria Hours
Monday to Friday: 6:30 am to 7 pm
Saturday to Sunday: 6:30 am to 1:30 pm
Lobby Coffee Shop Hours
Monday to Friday: 7 am to 8 pm
Saturday to Sunday: 7 am to 4 pm
Staying Connected
We understand that being apart from your family and daily routine can be difficult. That’s why we offer conveniences and amenities to keep you connected:
- Free WiFi throughout our hospital
- TVs available in all patient rooms
- Complimentary copy of The News Chief, Monday to Friday
Books and Gifts
Make your stay a little more special with a visit to our gift shop. We offer reading materials, personal care items and gifts to help brighten your day.
The gift shop, operated by the Heart of Florida Auxiliary, is located on the main floor near the lobby. We’re open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, but hours may vary based on volunteer availability. The gift shop is closed on holidays.
- Spiritual and Pastoral Care

A hospital stay can be an unexpected, anxious and lonely time, not only for loved ones, but family and friends as well. AdventHealth Heart of Florida knows that your spiritual care is also an important part of the healing process. That’s why members of the Department of Pastoral Care are available to you and your loved ones during your time in the hospital, providing you with spiritual care and support.
Contact a Chaplain
Any of our staff members can help you arrange a visit with an AdventHealth Heart of Florida hospital chaplain. You can also call the Spiritual Care office directly at Call863-419-4153.
If you need to see a chaplain right away, call extension 4153 when in the hospital. Our chaplain is in the hospital Monday to Friday from 8 am to noon.
Chaplains are also available on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call the hospital operator for an on-call list of more than 40 chaplains and assistant chaplains available to offer support whenever you need it.
Chapel Locations
AdventHealth Heart of Florida has two convenient chapels for prayer and reflection. The first-floor chapel is just off the hospital lobby next to the fountain. The second-floor chapel is located off the side of the ICU waiting room.
Both hospital chapels are open to all religious beliefs and are available to patients, families and visitors every day, around the clock.
- Know What to Bring

Whether you’re coming for a planned procedure or an emergency visit, a trip to the hospital can be stressful. Simplify the process by knowing what to bring ahead of time:
- Bring a list of prescriptions, but allow us to dispense your medications.
- Bring any referrals or tests from your physician to help streamline your care.
- Bring your photo ID and your insurance card.
- Don’t bring any valuables, leave your possessions with loved ones for safekeeping.
- Don’t worry about bringing toiletries. If you stay overnight, we’ll provide you with necessities, sleepwear and slippers.
Please make sure that any assistive devices are sent home with your family or visitors. Please ask your health care team about walkers, wheelchairs and canes that can be used during your stay in the hospital.

A hospital stay can bring many visits and services from multiple medical providers. We know it’s hard to plan ahead for an emergency hospital visit, but if you have a scheduled health care service that requires a hospital stay, we recommend contacting your anticipated health care practitioners within the hospital to confirm they participate with your insurance provider. Services may be provided in the hospital by AdventHealth as well as by other health care practitioners who may bill you separately. By contacting your anticipated health care practitioners ahead of time, you can get information about billing practices and an estimate for your upcoming services to help avoid any unexpected challenges and fees.
