  • Debridement
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
  • Arterial Management

Once a treatment plan has been initiated, you will visit the Center on a regular basis for wound care. You’ll also receive complete instructions on how to care for your wound between visits, and how to protect your wound from any further complications Remember, you are the most important part of your healing process, so keeping appointments and following directions are key to promote healing.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Your physician may determine that hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) will be a beneficial part of your treatment plan.
During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the patient breathes 100% oxygen while inside a special pressurized chamber. HBOT quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream. These high levels of oxygen assist in the healing process of wounds and effectively fight certain types of infections. They also stimulate the growth of new blood vessels and improve circulation. If you are a candidate for HBOT, you will receive daily therapy. The number of therapies needed depends on your diagnosis and treatment plan.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat a variety of conditions including:

  • Enhanced healing of select problem wounds
  • Crush injuries
  • Necrotizing soft tissue infections
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Radiation tissue damage
  • Compromised skin grafts and flaps
  • Diabetic wounds of the lower extremity
  • Acute traumatic injury
  • Soft tissue radionecrosis
  • Osteoradionecrosis
  • Hemorrhagic cystitis

When You Arrive At The Center

After an initial consultation and examination at the Center, you will be ready to begin your HBOT therapy. When you arrive, we will give you complete instructions regarding your treatment.

Once you are comfortably positioned inside the chamber, the pressure will gradually be increased. Most treatment sessions in the chamber last about two hours. While undergoing treatment, you will be able to watch TV, videos, relax or even sleep.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Guidelines

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is usually given on an outpatient basis. If you drive, you may drive yourself to the Center for therapy. Please allow up to two and a half hours for each visit.

HBOT is usually covered by Medicare and most health care plans reimburse.

For safety reasons there are certain items not allowed inside the hyperbaric chamber. We will discuss these with you prior to your treatment.

HBOT can be highly beneficial, but you must be committed to success and knowledgeable about the process. We encourage you to ask our staff any questions you might have.
