Stork's Landing

A special place that welcomes babies and celebrates new families, Stork’s Landing is Heart of Florida’s labor and delivery area. We have six warmly decorated labor and delivery room suites, an operating room for C-sections and a post-anesthesia care area. The obstetricians on staff at Heart of Florida are accustomed to working with midwives.

Our Level I Nursery has all the capabilities to handle normal births and those with minor complications. We also have a neonatologist on staff who cares for the babies in our nursery.

Celebrating Your New Addition

A new baby is cause to celebrate! Heart of Florida recognizes this with a gourmet celebration dinner for mother and dad prior to discharge. We also provide a keepsake Heart of Florida “onesie” for your baby and a diaper bag in which to carry all of the essentials.

Education

Some women experience gestational diabetes and our educator will help them through this challenge. Childbirth classes are also offered for expecting couples, and a lactation consultation service is available for mothers who wish to breastfeed. Call 863-419-BABY (2229) for more information on any of these educational services.

For our Young Patients

Heart of Florida pediatrics care is provided by a warm and compassionate staff in our Kid’s Kingdom. Rooms are private and comfortably accommodate parents of children age birth to 21 years. We know that a hospital admission is stressful and frightening for a child and encourage family to ask questions and participate in his/her care.

Your child’s pediatrician admitted him/her to the hospital to receive specialized care. That care will be overseen by one of our pediatric hospitalists, a physician who works closely with your family and your child’s pediatrician to determine the best course of treatment. Hospitalists provide care 24-hours-a-day and are able to closely monitor your child’s progress.

Bringing Children to the Hospital

While Heart of Florida provides caring medical services, nothing can replace the family’s support and the warmth of familiar things. For that reason, we encourage a parent to stay overnight with children, and encourage you to bring things like a comfy robe, slippers, stuffed animal or fun activities to make your child feel more comfortable and “at home” while in our care.
