In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center is offering reduced-fee screening mammograms and hosting a breast cancer survivor’s luncheon.
Reduced-fee screening mammograms
Throughout October, Heart of Florida’s Diagnostic Imaging Center is offering screening mammograms for just $60. This offer is for screening mammograms only. Women who qualify are 40 or older, have no breast symptoms (such as lumps, pain or discharge), no history of breast cancer surgery, are not pregnant or nursing, don’t have implants and haven’t had a mammogram within the past year.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling Heart of Florida’s One-Call Scheduling Line at 863-419-2270. A physician’s prescription is required for this screening. Cash, checks and major credit cards are accepted. Insurance will not be filed with this special rate.
Free Breast Cancer Survivor’s Luncheon
On Saturday, October 24, Heart of Florida will unite breast cancer survivor’s and area physicians from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in its Board Room for an annual free luncheon. Attendees will hear informative presentations by breast cancer specialists, enjoy lunch, prize drawings and fellowship with other survivors.
Seating is limited so pre-registration is required by calling 863-419-2263.
