Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center is committed to providing the community with opportunities for education and enhanced health knowledge. We sponsor a variety of free support groups and educational programs throughout the year which are held at the hospital campus, 40100 Highway 27, Davenport, FL. Diabetes Support Group
Information and support provided for individuals with diabetes. The program is held from 1-2 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, though no classes are held in June, July or August. The upcoming class will be on Thursday, September 9. For additional information, please call 863-419-2542.
Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery
The program offers information about this laparoscopic weight loss surgery and is presented by Cesare Peraglie, M.D., FACS, FASCRS. Held at 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Board Room on Sunday, August 8. Better Breathers Program
Information and support for individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. From 1-3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. The Program is endorsed by the American Lung Association. The next program will be held on Tuesday, July 20, and then again on August 17. Pre-registration is required by calling 863-419-2247.
Arthritis Support Group: Pain Relief and Increased Mobility
An opportunity for anyone suffering from arthritis to discuss current options for treatment and lifestyle management with the experts at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center. Held at 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Cafeteria Conference Room at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center. The next scheduled program is on Wednesday, July 21 and again on August 18. Pre-registration is required by calling 863-419-2500.
Childbirth Education Series
Education classes covering the various aspects of labor and delivery. Open to expectant parents. The cost is $40 per couple. For additional information, dates and pre-registration, please call 863-419-BABY (2229).
